A Bit About Me

  • Two times Parliamentary Member in Afghanistan’s Parliament (House of the people) between 2005 to 2019

  • Capable leader and a political figure with more than 3 decades experience in different capacities with
    significant focus on Afghanistan and Afghan refugees in Iran

  • Advocate of equality, integrity, human rights, access to education for women and children in particular, and women’s empowerment

  • Led the first political organization among Afghan immigrant women

  • Worked as Chief editor of Hajar magazine for women

  • Founded, and managed 300 Afghan led schools of refugees in Iran who did not have
    access to official Iranian education

  • Represented Afghan Refugees in Loya Jirga

  • Helped draft the 2004 Afghanistan Constitution

  • Represented Wardak Province in the Afghan parliament for two terms (15th and 16th )

 

Her other valuable work includes her cooperation in promoting and building the capacity of women in various fields such as:

  • The cooperation and founding of a parliamentary women's network called "The Voice of Women"

  • Active member of Commission on Central Investigation and Overseeing (16th terms)

  • Active member of Commission on Health, Sports, Youth, Labour and Workers (15th term)

  • Co-establishing The Youth Parliament (in collaboration with the RIR Institute)

  • Effective collaborations with the European Parliament, the US Congress, the British Parliament, NATO and Turkey's Parliament, the US Department of State

  • The participation and supporting international development programs such as the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFM).
